AppsTech Opens New Africa Office in Accra, Ghana 
New Location Expands Technology Offering on the Continent

AppsTech, a global leader in information technology (IT) consulting and a provider of ASP offerings, today announced the opening of a new branch in West Africa. The office, which will be located in Accra, Ghana, will be the second AppsTech location on the continent, the first being an office in Douala, Cameroon.

"African countries, especially those like Ghana, hold tremendous opportunity for technology services and product providers such as AppsTech," said Muyiwa Idowu, AppsTech's Chief Operating Officer. "Not only is there high demand for the suite of products and other basic Oracle training services such as those offered by AppsTech, but from an infrastructure standpoint, the fact that Ghana is one of the most politically and economically stable countries on the continent also makes it an ideal location for an office."

The expansion speaks directly to AppsTech longstanding goal of bringing technology to the African masses, a goal which resulted in the founding of the Africa Technology Forum, a non-profit organization aimed at bridging Africa's technology divide, a year ago.

Among the businesses that AppsTech will be targeting are government entities, international organizations and newly privatized corporations, of which there are plenty, following wide spread privatizations of previously government-owned companies on the continent.

"Not only do we have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the technological needs of newly privatized corporations in African countries such as Ghana, we also have an in-depth knowledge of the culture and environment, making us ideally suited for this kind of operation," said Idowu. "Over half of AppsTech employees have lived and/or worked overseas, a fact which provides AppsTech with a competitive advantage over its competitors, and also makes AppsTech well equipped to handle the cultural challenges often faced by U.S. companies looking to expand into Africa."

The company has already begun a stringent recruitment process, with the goal of recruiting as many homegrown professionals as possible from the local region. Details of initial clients and projected revenue numbers are still undisclosed.
