Names Financial Applications Expert As COO
AppsTech, an information
technology (IT) consultancy for multinational corporations and
governments, is naming Muyiwa Idowu as chief operating officer.
Raised and educated in Nigeria, Idowu speaks English, French and Yoruba.
He will direct the company's global expansion, targeting multinational
corporations and foreign governments and will oversee the deployment of
the company's services on an application service provider (ASP)
basis.
Idowu, whose experience includes solving complex IT and financial process
bottlenecks for both government and private clients, will also oversee
AppsTech's finance and human resources departments. Recently, Idowu
worked as an advisory consultant to the U.S. Department of Education where
he directed the streamlining and efficacy of its core treasury and cash
management processes.
While working with Ernst & Young in London, England, Idowu led audits
of companies in various industries including banking, oil and
manufacturing. He also served as financial controller for the Programmes
Group of Companies and was a partner at M&D Management
Consultants.
In the US, Idowu managed projects that resulted in the identification and
analysis of non-performing loan portfolios and the resolution of
discrepancies in agencies reporting to the U.S. Department of the
Treasury. He was credited with playing a major role in the accomplishment
of the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) first unqualified audit
opinion in 1997. Idowu is a chartered accountant and a member of the
Information Systems Auditing and Control Association.
