AppsTech
to buy Vienna systems integrator
Sean
Madigan Staff Reporter
Application Technologies, a
Bethesda, Md.-based corporate and government IT consulting firm, is
acquiring Apprio, a systems integrator in Vienna, Va.
The private companies did
not disclose financial terms, but an AppsTech spokesman says it is not an
all-cash deal. AppsTech will acquire Apprio's assets and assume all
"obligations" to its current employees and clients.
Company officials say the
acquisition will help AppsTech expand its international presence,
especially because of Apprio's "strong" ties to Asia and Latin
America.
An Oracle-based systems
integrator, Apprio focuses on the telecommunications, financial services
and education markets. Its clients include Global One, Net2000, Global
Telesystems, the Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Census Bureau.
The companies did not say
when they expect the deal to close.
