What to Expect If Upgrading from:

Version 10.7

Upgrading from Oracle 10.7 Character Mode to Release 11i will introduce the greatest amount of change. Not only are there new features and functionality, 11i also introduces new forms and reports technology, a new system architecture, and an entirely new user interface complete with drastically changed navigation.

• 10.7SC
  Upgrading from Oracle Smart Client to Release 11i will not have as significant a change impact to the user community as a Character Mode upgrade. While there will be new features, new functionality and a new system architecture,  users will be accustomed to windows and mouse navigation.
  

• 10.7NCA 
  In terms of 10.7 upgrades, this upgrade introduces the least amount of change. The only changes to the user community are new features and functionality as well as the look and feel of new forms. The underlying system architecture remains unchanged and, as with the Oracle 10.7SC upgrade,  users will be accustomed to windows and mouse navigation.

Version 11

As with 10.7 NCA, there are new features and functionality available to your end-users. The underlying system architecture is very similar and users will be accustomed to windows and mouse navigation.
